As part of our Readiness for Learning initiatives relating to helping students increase engagement in classroom learning, we are proud to partner with the Oregon Area Cares Community Coalition to offer a special screening of Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Oregon High School Performing Arts Center.
Screenagers is a documentary that explores the impact of digital devices on students’ lives and how these devices can impact adolescent mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. It’s an opportunity for families to learn about the effects of technology and start meaningful conversations at home. The movie also discusses considerations for when to get your child a phone, and once they have one, how to set healthy limits.

After months of discussion, data analysis, and community engagement, the Oregon School Board has approved a 1-hour later school start time for students on Mondays beginning on January 5, 2026.
